I feel that some camera systems have the ability to transform the users way of thinking or seeing things that can sometimes feel very drastically different to what one did before. The last camera to totally transform my photographic was the Rolleiflex system. Its simple and elegant way of square framing and the lack of lens choice allowed the whole “rule book” to be thrown out the proverbial window. Rule of thirds, LOL, whatever. Horizon at the centre, go for it!
Likewise, the Leica M rangefinder, at least for me, has taken the edge off my fussiness for image perfection. Before, I would have rarely dared to shoot a landscape wide open. Had I carried my Nikon kit, at three times the size, I wouldn’t have taken these images. The images here were all photographed at f/1.5 with the Voigtlander Nokton 50/1.5 ASPH II and the Leica M11.
